Join us in reshaping the future
of mental health
Why you should or shouldn't work with us:
If you’re considering joining or becoming a board member at Uplifting Minds, read this. It will give you clarity on whether or not you’d enjoy working with us.
Nonprofits with passion and purpose are powerful: places where like-minded individuals come together to create enduring change.
But now it just feels as if nonprofits are being slower-moving, bureaucratic, and detached from the people they intend to serve. Teams can lose focus, prioritizing organizational politics over impact, personal accolades over community service, and routine over innovation.
We know because we've seen it happen. We’ve learned from these challenges and identified what makes someone a great fit for Uplifting Minds. If the following resonates, we’d love to hear from you.
You care deeply about mental health advocacy and believe in making a real impact. You don’t see “work-life balance” as simply clocking in and out—you find meaning in what you do. You view personal growth and the success of the mission as interconnected, not competing priorities. You believe in getting 1 percent better every day. You are committed, knowing that change takes persistence and effort. You are obsessed with what’s best for the community we serve. You hold yourself to a high standard and refuse to settle for mediocrity. You don’t see nonprofits as a short-term experience before moving on—you want to build something that lasts.
As for us, we’re working to bridge the gap between mental health professionals and the South Asian community by developing culturally competent training programs. If successful, we will help reshape mental health care for an entire generation. We’ve made real progress. But we are far from done.
And the only way we achieve our mission is with passionate, driven, and ambitious people. Like you.
Our community is at the heart of everything we do. We listen carefully to the lived experiences of the South Asian youth and their families, shaping our programs and outreach to truly meet their needs. By staying rooted in empathy and understanding, we create a difference that’s not only informed, but personal, thoughtful, and lasting.
We are community-centered
Empowering Change Through a People-First Approach
We grow together
Believing in Progress, One Step at a Time
We believe that sustainable change comes from continuous growth. Whether it’s learning something new, strengthening our team, or improving how we serve—each small step matters. We encourage curiosity, reflection, and consistent action. The goal? To be a little better, a little wiser, and a little more connected every day.
We’re all in
Unshakable Commitment to Our Mission
At Uplifting Minds, we don’t dabble—we dedicate. We know that breaking stigma and bridging the cultural gap in mental health takes persistence, courage, and heart. We show up for our community with everything we’ve got, knowing that real change happens when we don’t leave a plan B. We’re here for the long haul.
